Getting Your Website Re-Designed

November 28th, 2009

0
Regular re-designing of websites is necessary because of the speed at which the Internet evolves. Technology and website users expectations can change monthly, so you can never view your website as being a finished product.

Your website is often your company or organization’s first contact with prospective clients, and it is therefore vitally important that it makes a great first impression – anything less and you will be missing out on custom, leads and sales. So, aim to review your website every 6-12 months to ensure that it is in keeping with the current standards expected of websites. The question is then, how do you know if your website is need of an update, or even an outright re-design?

Writing a simple checklist is the best place to start. Write down everything that your current website should be doing. Then, ask some customers or friends to take your list and try out your website. Ask them which of the points on your list your website achieves. Tell them to be frank and honest with you, as you will gain nothing from the exercise is they want to avoid offending you. Tell them that it is not personal, but that you want to make your website and your business as good as you possibly can.

Next create a list of of what your web site does not do, either because of outdated design, or capabilities it does not have. List all of the features or capabilities that you would like the website to have. Then, create one sentence which describes the primary purpose of your website and one secondary purpose. Everything on your list should support your primary and secondary purpose.

Try not to get caught up in the mindset that it necessary to totally overhaul the design of your website. Often, making just a few changes, or adding one or two extra capabilities is the best approach to take. If you make changes simply for the sake of making changes then you will just be wasting time and resources. You may also alienate existing customers of yours who may feel overwhelmed and confused when they visit your website after the re-design.

Coming up with a strict budget, and sticking to it, is something else to bear in mind. It is good practice to get several bids or proposals for the project before accepting one. Let website design companies know up front that you can spend around a certain amount, and the sorts of changes that you are looking to make, and then ask them to give you their best price.

Muscle Building Supplements : Using Them Effectively

November 25th, 2009

Those of us who love to build up our muscles tend to have an unfortunate attitude of wanting to achieve too much, too soon, and our progress, and even our overall health, can suffer as a consequence. This is not a good approach to take if you want to achieve solid, long lasting results.

Simply taking muscle building supplements, with the expectation that your muscles will magically grow as a result, is a wholly misguided point of view. The key is in the word ‘supplement’, i.e. they are meant to supplement your main efforts, not be the main effort itself.

That’s not to say that you should ignore muscle building supplement though – far from it. It is just a case of finding a diet and regime that is working well for you first. Once you have that established, then adding muscle building supplements into the mix can significantly improve the progress that you make.

So, lets look at the important components, from a dietary aspect, of a muscle builders regime…

Water – No, there is no mistake, and I’m not losing my mind, water definitely tops my list as the number one essential to a proper workout regime. Just think, water comprises almost 3/4 of the total muscle tissue. In other words, it is what muscle is mainly made of.

Protein Powder – Protein powder is cost-effective while being a super convenient way to add much needed protein and calories to your current dietary program. All you need to do is mix the powder with a little milk or water, et voila, you’re ready to go! If you’re one of those extremely lucky individuals who don’t naturally put on weight, but you want more muscle mass, protein powders are just what you need. The most popular being Whey protein, derived from milk whey.

Minerals & Vitamins – Give a conventional multivitamin or multi mineral supplement a go. You may not really need it, but it certainly can’t do any harm. Due to the fact that some individuals follow extremely limited dietary programs, comprising of repetitive food consumption, it is not uncommon to develop vitamin deficiencies.

Creatine – This is the most commonly used muscle building supplement. Why is that? Well, put simply, it works! By all means try out other supplements, but always use them as an addition to creatine, not as a replacement for it. The fact that so many fanatical muscle builders use it is evidence enough of its worth.

November 25th, 2009

0
Have you heard about the latest must-have food for your diet? Acai fruit juice of course! Are you interested in finding out more about the incredible health benefits of Acai juice? If so, you read on…

What is Acai fruit juice? Acai berries are approximately 1cm long, dark colored fruits, deriving from a palm tree with the same name, which is native to primarily the Americas. The fruit is also a relative of the other dark purple fruits including cranberries.

Is Acai fruit juice as healty as people say it is? Simply put – yes! Lots of research and many reports have come to that same conclusion. It has been established that Acai fruit juice contains powerful anti-oxidizing properties, which help fight against various diseases and health problems.

What makes Acai berries so healthy? Acai fruit juice is jam-packed with Anthocyanins and Flavonoids. These two ingredients are considered some of the world’s most powerful anti-oxidants that help cleanse the body from free-radicals and other harmful toxins. By simply consuming foods that are high in antioxidants such as Acai fruit juice, you’ll be combating diseases and the aging process by neutralizing mentioned free-radicals and toxins.

What are the recorded health benefits of Acai fruit juice? Recent studies have shown that Acai fruit juice is super high in anti-oxidants and contains more antioxidants that direct relatives such as cran-, ras-, black-, and blueberries. It is however essential to note that these studies are still ongoing.

What is the link between Acai berries and weight loss? As mentioned previously, studies are still being conducted on Acai berries, and no-one yet knows for sure the connection between Acai berries and weight loss. Although acai fruit is mentioned as an ingredient in some weight loss products, there are very few studies that have yet proven Acai berries to be an effective weight loss promoter. However, there’s no doubting the fact that berries and specifically acai fruit juice is a must for any healthy diet to prompt weight loss.

Are there beauty enhancing properties to Acai berries too? Again, this can be attributed to the fact that Acai is considered to contain potent anti-oxidants. Acai oil is a great alternative to other tropical oils normally used in beauty products including facial and body creams, shampoos and conditioners. Even after processing and extended periods of storage time the level of antioxidants in the oil still remains high.

Are there any side effects to using Acai fruit juice? As a fruit and a natural product, the vast majority of people will experience no side effects whatsoever to using Acai fruit juice. A small minority of people do have allergies to berry or pollen products though, so, if you have had bad reactions with other types of berries, then it is best to avoid Acai berries too.

Have You Considered Having Liposuction Cosmetic Surgery?

November 20th, 2009

If your body has areas of excessive fatty tissue, or you want to improve the overall shape of your body, then you might want to consider liposuction cosmetic surgery.

If you any of the following apply to you, then you are a good candidate for liposuction cosmetic surgery…

-You have excess fat areas in the neck, arms, back, breasts, ankles, calves, thighs, saddlebags, love handles, hips, buttocks or stomach.
-You have areas of fatty deposits that aren’t in proportion with the remainder of your body, and that don’t go away even after exercise and diet. This is also known as diet resistant fat.
-Your fatty tissues are not around areas where you have excess, sagging skin – skin elasticity being important since liposuction only removes fat and not skin.

Your plastic surgeon will evaluate you to make sure that you are a good candidate for liposuction. He or she may ask you to look in the mirror and point out the areas that you want to be improved. Some pictures will be taken, and these photos will be used help your surgeon to determine what you expect, and to let you know what can actually be achieved.

You will want to make note of prior surgeries, medical conditions you have now, or that you have had before, along with any medications and allergies. Be sure to provide complete information, since some conditions can affect your eligibility for surgery.

So, how exactly will your surgeon help you achieve your dream look? Well, liposuction cosmetic surgery removes the fatty tissue you want to get rid of with a hollow tube, or canula, that will be passed through your fatty areas. Some surgeons use a pump that creates a vacuum, and this process is known as suction-assisted liposuction or SAL. A motor may help the canula vacillate, and this process is called power-assisted liposuction or PAL. Sound waves may also be used to break down the fat cells, and ready them to be removed, or a laser may be used to break the fatty tissue down.

Each method has pluses and minuses. The variety of methods will be discussed during the consultation. Your surgeon may use a combination of different techniques, whichever it is felt will work the best for you. The ultimate decision of what techniques to be used will be determined by your surgeon.

Once the surgery has been performed, which generally takes a few hours at most, you will need to rest and recuperate for a period of about ten days. There are generally no complications with the procedure, as it is one of the most common ones that plastic surgeons perform, and so no follow up operations should be necessary.

The results of your liposuction usually last for a long period of time, however, the healing process can be gradual, so it may take several months for you to notice the full effects of your surgery. Some slight scaring may initially be visible but, over the course of a few months, this will fade to the extent that is barely visible.

A Guide On Emigrating To Australia

November 20th, 2009

0
About a quarter of those currently living in Australia were born overseas and more than 120,000 people emigrate there every year. It’s popular with those wishing to emigrate because of the opportunities and lifestyle on offer.

Those emigrating to Australia find that they can have more disposable income and a better quality of life. Australia has some of the least expensive cities in the first world, even though it is also listed in the top ten countries in the world for quality of life.

As one of the pacific region’s hubs of economic activity, finding work in any industry is not difficult. As with other English speaking countries, Australia is committed to equal employment opportunities for all.

A visa system is in operation, which means that anyone who isn’t an Australian citizen should possess a visa to live there. Your ethnic origin, race, nationality, religion and sex do not come into the decision of eligibility.

There are a range of different visas on offer to people emigrating to Australia: working holiday visa; skilled independent visa; family visa; study visa; retirement visa. The right one for you is based on how long you plan to stay there and what you’ll be doing there.

Those who want to acquire an Australian visa should lodge an application with the Department of Immigration and Culture under one of their visa programs, and pay an application fee (which varies from program to program).

The time taken to process your application varies, though you should allow a minimum of 12 months. Should your application be refused, you’ll be told the reasons why and where you can apply for a review of the decision, and the time limit for doing so.

It isn’t necessary to use a migration agent, though lots of people do use one. Their knowledge and experience of the application process and the visa regulations can shorten the time it’ll take to obtain your visa.

Dating – How To Show Your Partner That You Care

November 17th, 2009

0
You may have heard the expression “born romantic” or, perhaps, you have seen a couple being affectionate to each other and wondered why your relationships haven’t been the same. When it comes easy to people though, like most things in life, it’s because they have practiced at it. They have simply taken the time and made the effort to find out what their partner wants, and then found interesting and exciting ways to deliver it.

You should aim for lots of little gestures, made on a regular basis, rather than focusing on sparse, grand gestures. If you can afford to do both, that’s great, but you may be pleasantly surprised at just how much the little things mean to your partner. It is all about demonstrating that you care, that you want your partner to feel special, and that you are in love with your partner.

So, what exactly counts as a romantic gesture? Well, it can be anything that lets your partner know that you have been, or are, thinking about them. Cost isn’t the issue here; what matters is showing them that you care. Here are some examples to help you get started…

-Send a text message saying how much you love them
-Write and post a letter to them
-Send them a romantic email
-Compliment your partner each time you see them
-Always kiss them before you leave and when you return
-Unexpectedly kiss them
-Give them hugs and affectionate squeezes
-Hold your partners when you are out together
-Write love notes and leave them in random places where you know your partner will find them
-Call your partner just to say “Hi”
-Make cooking and serving candlelit dinners a regular occurrence
-Have intimate lunches together
-Give flowers on days other than birthdays, Christmas, valentines, etc.
-Write them a romantic poem
-Write down a list of all the reasons you love your partner and show it to them
-Giving your partner a slow gentle massage
-Call last thing at night to wish them sweet dreams

There are of course other things that you could do, but those ideas listed above are more than enough, so long as you follow them through and put your heart into them. By implementing even a few of them, your partner will be in no doubt as to how your feelings towards them. Also, remember, that affection returns affection, so, by starting to be affectionate and romantic yourself, your partner will soon starting responding to you in the same way. Soon enough, you will be romantic bliss!

Learn Some Basic Online Gaming Terms

November 14th, 2009

0
You may have heard a few people who play online games spout certain terms like F2P, P2P, NPC or leveling up. These terms are what you might call online gaming jargon and, unless you are already an experienced online gamer, you probably aren’t yet aware of what mobbing, farming or hunting mean in online gaming. Here are some of the most basic terms that you may or may not hear from certain online gamers:

P2P – This is an abbreviation of pay-to-play which is used to describe online games which you must pay the creator of the game to participate in. This payment can be for a set number of hours or, more often than not, on a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis.

F2P – This term is a shortened form of free-to-play and describes those games which can be played online without the need for any paid subscription. The fact that they are free doesn’t mean that they are low quality though; indeed, some of the best and most popular online games are F2P.

Bots – Some people who want to level up even when they are not playing often use what is called a bot. A bot is short for robot and is a program or script that commands your character to do certain tasks, like kill others players in an area and pick up loots, to either level up by itself or to make money with loots that you pick up. A lot of games have outlawed bots but some games still allow these auto-players.

NPC – Those characters within a game which are there to facilitate your adventure by giving you advice and helpful items are called non-player characters (NPCs). These are harmless characters for which you will gain nothing for killing.

Mobbing – This means to go on a mass killing spree in a short period of time. It is done if there happens to be a lot of weak players in the surrounding area or if someone want to quickly improve their characters points or reputation.

Loots / Drops – These are what characters drop after they have been killed. There are different kinds of loots or drops and the harder a character is to kill, the better the drops or loots usually are. You will find that some games have what is called rare drops and these are often dropped by special characters that take a longer time to kill.

Farming – This usually happens in conjunction with mobbing, since mobbing often produces drops or loots that are needed by players to either make in-game money or steal weapons, potions or accessories from other players. This term is also used for collecting certain materials that are hard to find and are needed for creating rare weapons or armors that can help make a character stronger.

Online Games : P2P v F2P

November 14th, 2009

0
You may have heard the terms P2P and F2P in association with online games. These basically mean pay to play and free to play, and online games are either one or the other. The debate that is going on between players and followers of these two types of games often stem from which type of game is best and which one gives you more chances of building a strong character based on hard work or based on your having money.

The arguments that people bring to the table on this subject can be pretty interesting to listen to since both sides do have rather strong points when they point out the flaws and the merits of each type. Here are some of the arguments that you will commonly hear:

When you have a pay to play game, you will need to pay a monthly fee to allow you to log in and play. The usual argument with this is that in a pay to play environment, your subscription may run out without your using it if you play due to busy schedules and such, while free to play games that you can register and play on for free are there for you to visit anytime you want without the overhead monthly cost of membership.

It should be noted though that F2P games are not as free as you might assume they would be. Yes, you can play them without setting up a monthly subscription, but, if you want to make real progress on them, you will probably need to strengthen your character and get specific items for them. This may be achievable through hard work, but, in many cases, the only way to improve or upgrade is to pay. This contrasts to P2P games in that, with P2P, once you pay for the game time, all additional extras are achievable in-game, without the need to continually buy weapons, armor and accessories.

The number of players involved in a game is the other major factor to take into consideration as, generally, the more players, the better the gaming experience as there is more action and interactions with others. F2P games tend to attract more players, though there are some exceptions, and you would therefore assume that F2P games win on this issue. However, the ‘quality’ of players is generally better on P2P; they are more involved and more knowledgeable. Therefore, for those gamers who wish to build armies and form alliances, P2P games are better, as the other players will be online more and will be more reliable.

Living Your Fantasy With Online Games

November 14th, 2009

0
One of the main reasons why people indulge in online gaming is to get away from the reality of their life, at least for a few hours, to a fantasy world. This is what online games are all about! You can put yourself in roles that you find you can’t play in real life and explore whole new worlds.

Online gaming has proven to be an avenue of escape for a lot of people who find the stresses of life tough to cope with. Whenever a person feels like their head is about to explode from stress, and they feel like lashing out at their boss or a co-worker, but they can’t and won’t due to the possible repercussions of such an outburst, fighting and killing in-game gives them a much needed release. They get to take out all their aggression on whoever they encounter in the game.

Playing online games not only gives a person an outlet for pent up frustrations and anger, it also gives the person an outlet to let go of shyness and the fear of rejection. Hiding behind an avatar, you can meet people who you never otherwise would. You might tell them who you really are or you may choose not to, it’s up to you. The good thing about this is that it gives you the chance to interact with other people on a level where you are all pretty equal, since you are all playing the same game. It also gives you a common ground to begin with – the game – and this can become the foundation of a friendship that can possibly transcend the gaming world.

Then there is the creativity and freedom available. Whether you want to be a magician, a warrior or a myth-like creature, is totally up to you. The choice is yours as to whether you adventure alone or in a group. To fight for good or for evil is decision for you alone to make. In fact, there are literally hundreds of decisions to make and options to choose from, all of which you can see the immediate results of. Whatever your mood is, and whatever you want to achieve, in an online game you can do it.

Just make sure that once you log out of the game, you leave your fantasy persona behind and return to the real world as you and not your sword wielding character or your mob killing avatar!

Great Ways For Work At Home Moms To Make Extra Money

November 11th, 2009

0
Work at home moms have an abundance of online opportunities to choose from to earn extra money. Amongst these good opportunities, it is true that there are some bad ones, but letting the minority spoil the majority is never a good approach to take in any walk of life. With that said, here are five ways for work at home moms to earn a tidy income from the comfort of their own homes.

1. Freelance writing and editing. Nearly every Internet site needs content and that content needs to be written by someone – why not you? Whether you’re a specialist in one topic, or can write about everything, you’ll be sure to find someone in need of your services. It’s easy enough to find clients; you can either join some Internet marketing forums or sign up on a couple of freelancing websites.

2. Website or graphic design. Those with knowledge of Adobe Photoshop can earn money online by designing graphics for others. Whether it be logos, banners, eBook covers, icons, blogging themes or entire websites, this type of service is always in demand. The possibilities with design are really endless and people will pay top prices if you can do excellent work for them.

3. Virtual assisting. Being a virtual assistant is kind of like being a secretary, except that you can work from your own home. You may be answering calls that have been directed through to you, responding to emails, updating websites or databases, or anything of that sort. Becoming a virtual assistant will require you to have good interpersonal skills as well as proficiency with, or an ability to learn, how to use software such as Microsoft Word.

4. eBay dropshipping. In addition to selling your unwanted items on eBay for extra cash, you can also start a dropshipping business on eBay. This requires you to find a supplier of a product that is in demand and to then list that product on eBay. Once you make the sale, you then place an order with the supplier for that product and have them mail it directly to the person you sold it to, with you taking a cut of the profits. This is a really great, risk free way, to make money, as the only upfront cost is that to make a listing on eBay, and you don’t have the hassle of keeping an inventory or posting items..

5. Blogging. This tends not to be result in instant cash but, as a long term model, you can easily make a passive income. To get started, you just need to set-up a Wordpess blog on your own domain, with the total cost of doing so being about $10 a year. If you post regularly, and keep your content consistent to your theme, your readership will steadily grow, your blog will gain visibility within your niche, and you’ll start to earn money from ads as well as other revenue sources.
